Shamim Miah is Senior Lecturer and course leader for MA Education at the University of Huddersfield. He is the author of Ibn Khaldun: Education, History and Society, Muslims and the Question of Security: Trojan Horse, Prevent and Racial Politics, Race, Space and Multiculturalism in Northern England, and Muslims Schooling and the Question of Self-Segregation which received the ‘highly commended’ book award by the Society for Educational Studies in 2016. Shamim is the co-editor for ‘Muslim in Britain’ series, published by Oxford University Press and Reviews Editor of Critical Muslim. Shamim has worked a Senior Policy Advisor and a Youth Worker for Oldham Council for many years, and has over twenty years’ experience of voluntary youth work, community development and inter-faith work in England.
